To help youth and those around them learn about mental health, we’ve created an interactive workshop for students.
● To improve the mental health of young people in Hong Kong
● To empower the school community by giving a common language and access to resources developed together with local clinicians
● To destigmatise mental health conversations
This three-part series workshop is open to students, F.3/Y9/G8 and above. It is available in English and Cantonese. This course is FREE for first 1,500 students (fee required for latecomers) and is available now.
Content includes:
Part 1: Introductory Level (1 hour)
Learning objective: To provide basic essential concepts for students to learn about mental health
Programme description and rundown:
- What is mental health?
- Stress and mental health
- Stigma around mental health
- Self-care tips
- Where and how to seek help in HK
Part 2: Intermediate Level (1 hour)
Learning objective: To dive deeper into providing youth more practical tips / tools on maintaining good mental health, promote self-care and help-seeking behaviors amongst students, and how they can be a support to their peers
Programme description and rundown:
- Review of Part 1
- Self-care tools and stress management
- Help-seeking behaviors
- Be a friend’s “guardian angel”
Part 3: Advanced Level (1 hour)
Learning objective: To provide students with more clinical knowledge about common mental health conditions and their symptoms
Programme description and rundown:
- Review of Part 1 and Part 2
- Effects of stress
- Common mental health conditions (depression, anxiety, PTSD etc)
*We would recommend that schools/organisations choose all 3 workshops (students, parents and educators) for a fully holistic package. However, you are also welcome to participate in individual workshops.
